Sand Dune Habitat Restoration
About
ENCINAL BEACH: In 2020 a beautiful sand dune habitat was created at Encinal Beach with unique California native plants. In winter and spring over the past three years, volunteer weed warriors/good Samaritans have done an excellent job pulling and preventing invasive weeds from taking over, which also benefits wildlife and humans. Now it’s time to plant! With your help, we will fill in blank spots with new species of California native sand dune plants that are not already established. Then hopefully in spring all can witness a more diverse and beautiful sand dune habitat! Snacks and refreshments served; tools provided. Students can earn community service hours. Ages 10 years and up. Registration required (click link below). SIGN UP HERE NOTE: When registration is full, the date will be removed the registration link.
