Legendary Boston jazz performers George Russell Jr. (piano) and Donna McElroy (voice) take the stage to inspire and delight as The Allen Center kicks off its new season, We the People: Finding Our Voices . Berklee Professor Emerita Donna McElroy is a remarkably talented performer, vocalist and arranger. She arranged and sang back-up on gold and platinum releases by Reba McEntire, Garth Brooks, Amy Grant, BeBe and CeCe Winans, and many others. She received a Grammy nomination for her own pop-gospel album, Bigger World, and won a Dove award for her contribution to the inspirational compilation album, Songs from the Loft. She has appeared on The Tonight Show and the Grammy Awards, received a best actress award in 1993 for the Circle Players’ performance of Nunsense, and traveled throughout the world pursuing her musical and missionary work. George W Russell Jr. is a performer, composer, and educator who has created a unique fusion of Gospel & Jazz. He is currently Chair of the Harmony & Jazz Composition Dept at Berklee College of Music. His performances range from solo piano to a groove-oriented jazz trio to a soulful, fresh-sounding larger ensemble that arouses the listener
