With Fiber Artist Laura Tandeske The art of embroidery dates back to the beginning of civilization and is practiced by cultures all around the globe. This valued art form is not only beautiful, It’s also good for mental health and wellness. Discover how embroidery is being used by various organizations to help many people as a tool for wellness. There will be a showing of work by local artists and a discussion on how the work was beneficial to their wellness. No Registration. Best for adults. About the Artist: Laura Tandeske learned to embroider at the early age of 5. She studied Fine Art at California State University East Bay and refined her embroidery craft with the Embroiderers Guild of America and San Francisco School of Needlework and Design. She has won numerous awards and her work was included as part of the 2 year Sixteenth National Exhibit with the Embroiderers Guild of America. Library staff may take photos, videos, or audio recordings at our events. Please tell us if you do not wish to be photographed, video-recorded, or audio-recorded.
