Talk Therapy 101 for Parents
About
With the new school year in full swing, challenges are on the rise for families. It can be overwhelming to know how and where to look for support. If you have a child or teen who is struggling with depression, anxiety, stress, or other mental health challenges, then talk therapy may provide an answer. Come learn: what happens in talk therapy, different approaches for different needs how to find a therapist who's a good fit. Bring questions! Drop in. No registration. About our speaker: Cole Scanlon is a licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist providing services in the Tri-Valley. Cole's areas of focus include academic stress, interpersonal stress and conflict, LGBTQIA+ concerns, and life transitions. Library staff may take photos, videos, or audio recordings at our events. Please tell us if you do not wish to be photographed, video-recorded, or audio-recorded. We will always respect your requests. An ASL (American Sign Language) interpreter or closed captioning can be provided for this program if requested at least seven (7) days in advance. For assistance, please contact your library or accessibility@aclibrary.org .
