An Unsecret Garden invites audiences into a sonic experience where nature, art, memory, and imagination intertwine. Among the nature-inspired music presented in this program will be Arnold Schoenberg’s The Book of the Hanging Gardens , and Helen Grimes’s Aviary Sketches , inspired by Joseph Cornell’s Untitled: Aviary with Yellow Birds , currently on view in Revolutions: Art from the Hirshhorn Collection, 1860–1960 . Join Consort director Christopher Kendall at 4 PM, before the performance, for a discussion of the themes and music presented. Registration is required for this preconcert talk.
