Music and Movement
About
Tickets will be handed out, first-come first-served, the morning of the event, at the children's desk. Space is limited. Another session will be held at 11:15 to allow as many people as possible to attend. Please choose one session. Drop-in play will be held after the SECOND session, at 11:45. Come to Music & Movement at the library! It's a cross between a storytime and a dance party. The program is targeted to toddlers and preschoolers. Babies are welcome at the program! But, please know that we use recorded music and it will be louder and more high energy than our Baby Storytimes. Other than LOTS of singing and dancing, we sometimes use props like scarves, ribbons, and shakers. We always end with bubbles. And I will share a singable book somewhere in the middle! Music and movement teach the early literacy skills of listening and following directions, anticipation, and rhyming. Moving to music helps children exhaust pent-up energy, builds self-confidence and a positive self-image. Looking for something to do until then?
