"Building "Bird Nest" Wreaths to Support our Feathered Friends" Join Master Gardeners for this fun and educational workshop. Leave with a wreath that will support local birds next Spring when it is time for them to build their nests. We will also include strategies for adding "snacks" to the wreaths that are healthy and easy to make. You will learn about the lichens, mosses and grasses that birds use to build nests and a little bit about the biology of these interesting natives. This workshop is for anyone who is interested in attracting more birds to their backyard, wants to learn how to create interesting and unique wreaths, and folks who are curious about lichens and mosses - where to find them or just some cool facts about these interesting natives. The UC Master Gardener Program empowers Californians to adopt sustainable gardening practices and preserve our natural environment. UC trained volunteers donated 5+ million hours of outreach on: Sustainable landscaping — giving gardeners the tools to be environmentally friendly.
