TILDEN - Power with Poles! Learning optimal use of poles improves performance and confidence. Uphill: Improve endurance, posture, upper body strength and spine function. Downhill: Develop skills for feeling safer and preserving joints – Save your knees! Expert training plus a short practice hike, all level hikers welcome. Meeting Location: Tilden (Berkeley): Orchard Picnic Site This session is for HIKERS (beginner to experienced). If you are deconditioned or have mobility challenges, please select another training offered this session. Our short practice hike is less than 3 miles, with a nice variety of terrain. A variety of top- quality poles are provided for your use, or you may bring and use your own. If you bring your own poles, please make sure they are in working order and do not ask the instructor to repair, touch or work with them. CAREFULLY read the descriptions and then select the class that best suits your physical ability and inclination. Approximately 5 days before the course, you will receive an email reminder from EB Parks which will include helpful and seasonal info from your instructor.
