About

Something on your mind? Whisper your secrets and troubles to your very own muñeca quitapena. We will be decorating mini tins to create cozy and personalized homes for your own Mayan worry doll. Worry dolls come from the Mayan legend of the sun god, who taught Princess Ixmucane how to solve any problems. Ixmucane spread this gift to the people, teaching them to make worry dolls. Today, indigenous artisans from Guatemala continue the tradition by creating beautiful dolls dressed in traditional Maya regalia. Once you have made a home for your own muñeca quitapena, be sure to share your worries with it each night. The doll will listen to your troubles, helping you to wake up feeling peaceful. This program is for children and teens.
