The Expansiveness of Latinidad: Art, Community, and Joy Keynote with Interactive Art Workshops with Rayos Magos

Kick off Latiné Heritage Month with an interactive talk and art workshop, led by Rayos Magos (https://rayos-magos.square.site/), a Latinx/Chicano, mixed-media artist with a background in Counseling Psychology from San Jose, CA. This keynote session will center the expansiveness of the Latiné experience, showcasing how art can be a path to honor our heritage, strengthen community, and experience collective joy. The event will feature a main keynote talk, and two Collagraph Printmaking Workshops open to the CSM community. Materials will be provided. The Collagraph Printmaking Workshops will emphasize the importance of self-expression and identity through art; participants will create a "collagraph" with images and symbols that reflect their identity reflecting on what makes us unique and what brings us together in community. A collagraph is a printmaking process where participants use textured materials to build a collage on a surface. The workshop will take place at the Bayview Dining
