Running with a Ranger: Escape the City
About
Why did a growing Washington, DC, need to make space for wilderness? Lace up your running shoes and join a ranger for a 3-mile run through Rock Creek Park and explore how the concerns about city life, health, and recreation helped create the park a century ago. As you race through the history of one of the nation's oldest urban national parks, you will experience the fresh air and scenery that Washingtonians have sought here for generations. All running levels are welcome! Additional Information: The terrain will include pavement and dirt trails. Dress for the weather and wear comfortable outdoor clothes and running shoes. Be sure to bring water to stay hydrated throughout the run.
