Finding Scholarships that Fit
About
Finding Scholarships that Fit Interactive Workshop Orienting participants around unique aspects of themselves as individuals, students, and community members, Becca walks participants through the development of 10 - 25 customized search terms. Demonstrating the complications of personal bias and online search processes with audience-based queries, Becca teaches the “5-click strategy” of digging through identified websites with intention. Participants leave this interactive workshop with a categorized list of search terms for themselves, a 3 step-process for online searches, and a better sense of how public institutions, private donors, and large organizations advertise scholarship opportunities. This presentation is part of a 2-part series, but you do not need to attend both sessions. This presentation is meant for teens and their parents, but anyone who wishes to attend this program is welcome. Library staff may take photos, videos, or audio recordings at our events. Please tell us if you do not wish to be photographed, video-recorded, or audio-recorded. We will always respect your requests! An ASL (American Sign Language) interpreter or closed captioning can be provided for this program if requested at least seven (7) days in advance. For assistance, please contact your library or accessibility@aclibrary.org .
