Day of the Dead: Mini Ofrendas

Build your own mini altar to celebrate Day of the Dead! Local artist Elizabeth Jiménez Montelongo will guide you through the process, demonstrating each step. She will also share information on basic altar elements and the tradition's Indigenous roots. There is an opportunity for creative liberty and personalization of this project. Participants are encouraged to bring their choice of three empty boxes in various sizes, such as cereal, shoe, tissue, or snack boxes. Other materials will be provided. Feel free to bring small decorative objects, natural objects, and/or a photo or focal item for the top. This program is intended for adults (18+). Due to high demand, we ask that community members sign up for a single occurrence of this series so that as many community members as possible can participate in this experience. Registration is required to attend.
