Makerspace: Inktober Drawing Challenge

Inktober is a global drawing challenge started in 2009 to encourage daily art practice and sharing it online with #Inktober. Throughout October, a table will be set up by the makerspace with supplies and a growing display of community drawings. You will find various paper types, multiple drawing tools, and ideas for what to draw. Every day, there will be a new prompt to inspire your daily drawing that you can choose to use if you are ever feeling stuck on what to do. Once you have made your drawing, you will be able to add it to our display. Feel free to draw at home and add them to the wall when you visit. The challenge is to repeat this as much as you can, all 31 days of this month. By the end of the month, we hope there will be a full wall of small daily doodles. Inktober is a month-long drawing challenge focused on building good drawing habits and sharing them with a community all doing the same thing. There is no wrong way to participate. Some artists choose to focus on one long project, and some artists do a quick doodle every day. Some participants wouldn't call themselves an artist at all. It's about doing what you can as often as you can. If you like drawing, even if just in theory, Inktober is meant to encourage you to make a small step, one day at a time. It's only ink to invite you to make mistakes, stay loose, and have fun with whatever comes out of your brain. While traditionally done in ink, all mediums are welcome.
