About the Teen Advisory Board (TAB) What Will I Do? Oakton Library’s Teen Advisory Board (TAB) is made up of teen volunteers (grades 7 – 12, must be at least 12 years old) who are committed to helping the library offer the programs and resources teens want and need. This is a school year-long commitment, and you are required to attend one meeting a month and provide at least two service hours per month. As an official TAB member, you will: • Attend board meetings (once a month) to share ideas, help plan future events/services for teens, and work toward making the library a teen-friendly space in our community. Meetings will be in-person events. • Participate in library programs (at least twice a month), work on special projects, and help make sure that teen-focused events and programs at the library run smoothly. • Create take-and-makes and other crafts for preschool and school age children and programs. • Act as an ambassador for the library by getting school friends involved, sharing information about upcoming library events with friends and teachers at school, and bringing back input and suggestions from the community.
