CENTRAL: Bookmark Stories Community Art Project
About
Bookmark Stories is a community art project that invites people to share their immigration journeys, whether their own or their family’s, through a simple, powerful medium: a bookmark. By writing or drawing on a small piece of paper, participants capture moments of transition, memory, and identity. These bookmarks become more than placeholders; they transform into personal artifacts that reflect the emotions, challenges, and hopes that come with moving between worlds. Bookmark Stories brings these individual reflections together into a shared collection, celebrating roots, journeys, and new beginnings. Each contribution adds to a larger narrative of movement and belonging, reminding us that while every story is unique, the experience of transition connects us all. We invite you to share your bookmark with the community collection displayed at the Stanford Health Library, Hoover Pavilion.
