Designing for Equity Lab with the National Equity Project

Friday, October 23 · 9 AM – 4 PM · College of San Mateo

About

"Designing for Equity" is a professional development hands-on lab facilitated by the National Equity Project. Designed for CSM Classified Employees and Faculty, this program utilizes a Liberatory Design approach—blending human-centered design thinking with an equity lens—to help participants implement small, actionable changes in their departments, classrooms, or teams to achieve more equitable outcomes for students. The program spans four Friday sessions during the 2026–27 academic year, starting with a full-day in-person foundation kickoff on October 23, 2026, followed by three virtual design lab working sessions. Participants are encouraged to bring a real workplace challenge and join alongside one or two teammates to workshop, prototype, and pressure-test safe-to-fail experiments alongside professional coaches.Registration is available Online (https://smccd-czqfp.formstack.com/forms/designing_for_equity_registration) If you have questions, please reach out to Marisol Quevedo at quevedom@smccd.edu (mailto:quevedom@smccd.edu)
