Mexican artist Pedro Linares López had a fantastic dream of strange, vibrant hybrid animals that chanted the word "alebrijes." Using the traditional Mexican paper mache technique of cartoneria, he brought these iconic Alebrijes to life, inspiring artists like Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera, and the world! In this two-session craft, we will make our own dreamlike alebrijes out of paper mache (session 1) and paint them (session 2)! This craft is for teens in grades 6-12. You must register for both sessions.
