Learn the Laser Cutter

This is the required training to use the Hatch laser cutter. Patrons will learn the basics of setting up a job, safety considerations, acceptable materials, and some troubleshooting. This is the first step in becoming an independent user of the machine. This workshop does not cover project design and does not allow time for personal projects, although patrons are welcome to bring their project plans and materials in order to get feedback. Please note that this class takes place outside of regular Hatch hours. For patrons ages 16+. Patrons under the age of 16 are not allowed to use the laser cutter. MAKER CARDS All visitors to Hatch must show their Hatch Maker Card or sign a waiver to receive a Maker Card. Visitors under 18 must have a parent/guardian present to cosign their waiver. Visitors under 12 years old must be accompanied by a guardian at all times. LOCATION This event takes place at WFPL’s Hatch Makerspace, located at 20 Summer Street in Watertown, just a few blocks away from the Library. --- The Watertown Free Public Library does not discriminate and does not share your information with anyone.
