Similar to gin rummy, Chinese Mahjong is not only fun and social, but a game of strategy, skill and luck. It's easy to learn and is a great introduction to other versions of the game. We'll learn the tiles' names and how they come together for that winning Mahjong hand. Just come with an open mind for learning something new and we'll provide the rest. Instructor Melissa Flavell is the founder of NOVA Mah Jongg , based in Alexandria, Virginia. Guided by the motto “Building community one tile at a time,” NOVA MJ offers an inclusive and welcoming group for tile enthusiasts across Northern Virginia. NOVA MJ hosts free games and offers lessons to both new and experienced players. Registration required. Adults.
