Next Chapter Book Club (grade 3)

Do you love to read? Want to discover some new books and read a variety of genres? Would you like to meet new friends and discuss interesting books? Next Chapter is a monthly book discussion group for 3rd graders. Everyone reads the same book before each meeting and comes prepared to talk about it. Meetings will include an activity related to the book. When you sign up, you are registered for the entire session (Meeting Dates: 10/13, 11/10, & 12/8). Please register only if you can attend all meetings. If your child becomes unable to attend this program, please notify the library as soon as possible. Repeated 'no-shows' without notification may result in your child's removal from the club and may prohibit your child from registering for future programs. In order to successfully participate in this program, a participant should have: the ability to attend programs independently the ability to follow multi-step instructions the ability to read (or listen to) and comprehend short chapter books the ability to be an engaged participant in a conversation—including the ability to be an active listener, take turns talking, and treat peers with courtesy and respect a desire to interact and socialize with peers a desire to read outside their comfort zone and try different genres
