BLACK DIAMOND MINES REGIONAL PRESERVE - Join the Black Diamond Mines Autumn Open House Weekend to learn the stories of those who carved a life for themselves in these hills and explore the underground workings they left behind. Free Coal Mine Experience tours will be provided on a first come, first served basis - maximum of 20 participants per tour. No advanced registration and no waitlists. Must be 7+ years old to tour the mine. Parent participation required. Greathouse Visitor Center will be open and additional activities will be available for those unable to join tours. Coal Mine Experience Schedule: 10:30am - 11:00am 11:30am - 12:00pm 1:30pm - 2:00pm 2:30pm - 3:00pm Park in the upper parking lot, which is 1 mile past the kiosk. Meet at the Greathouse Visitor Center for the Coal Mine Experience. $5/per vehicle parking fee applies when kiosk is attended. No-registration required; Drop-in Program only.
