Getting Started in Genealogy

Text from presenter: In this one-hour class, you'll learn the basics of family history research: how to find information, what records to look for, organizing your findings, documenting your sources, and more. 10:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M. Classes will be held on October 24, February 27, 2027, and May 22, 2027 (choose a convenient date; the class content is the same each time). Taught by volunteers from the Los Altos Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution. Optional session: stay for an 11:00 A.M.-noon small group session to work with the DAR volunteers to start your family tree. Send an email to losaltosdar@gmail.com if you want the instructor to do a little research on your family tree ahead of the class, so that she can better recommend research strategies tailored to you.
