Digital Storytelling in Action: A Hands-On Workshop with the Burleigh Family Project
About
What if your whole family fought for freedom? Professor Jennifer Rycenga’s research tells the story of the Burleigh family of Plainfield Connecticut, a multigenerational lineage of activists, poets, and artists who devoted themselves to the abolition of slavery. This workshop will begin with that story, which forms the basis of the digital project The Burleigh Family of Plainfield, Connecticut: An Anti-Racist Abolitionist Legacy. Participants will then have a chance to try digital storytelling themselves by using mapping tools to share their own narratives.
