Tales With a Twist Story Club (grades K–1)

Step into the world of stories, rhymes, and big ideas! Each week, kids will explore classic fairy tales alongside "fractured" twists and inspiring stories about fairness, empathy, and community. Together, we’ll build confidence through group recitation, practice introducing one another, and dive into hands-on crafts, games, and activities. When you sign up, you are registered for the entire session (Meeting Dates: 9/16, 9/23, 9/30, 10/7, 10/14, & 10/21). Caregivers are asked to remain in the library building during the program. To allow the most children to participate in our book clubs, we ask 1st graders to choose between Tales With a Twist Story Club and Bookmarks Book Club. If your child becomes unable to attend this program, please notify the library as soon as possible. Repeated 'no-shows' without notification may result in your child's removal from the club and may prohibit your child from registering for future programs. In order to successfully participate in this program, a participant should have: the ability to attend programs independently the ability to follow multi-step instructions the ability to listen to and discuss a book read aloud the ability to be an engaged participant in a conversation—including the ability to be an active listener, take turns talking, and treat peers with courtesy and respect a desire to interact and socialize with peers a desire to read outside their comfort zone and try different genres
