Read the World: A Middle Grade Book Club
About
Read the World is a book discussion group for youth in 6th to 8th grade. Each month we'll read a book set in a different country and enjoy conversations about the book as well as other cultures and experiences. We'll read from multiple categories, including fiction, nonfiction, graphic novels, novels in verse, and more. This month we'll be reading and discussing When You Trap a Tiger by Tae Keller and set in Korea. Please register then stop by the library for a free copy of the book no earlier than one month before the discussion. When Lily, her sister Sam, and their mother move in with her sick grandmother, Lily traps a tiger and makes a deal with him to heal Halmoni. When You Trap a Tiger Library staff may take photos, videos, or audio recordings at our events. Please tell us if you do not wish to be photographed, video-recorded, or audio-recorded. We will always respect your requests. An ASL (American Sign Language) interpreter or closed captioning can be provided for this program if requested at least seven (7) business days in advance. For assistance, please contact your library or accessibility@aclibrary.org
