Stay for inspired live — Día de los Muertos November 1, 7-8 Celebrate Día de los Muertos at Fairyland with a spirited art exhibition, special live performances, and a brand new Book Celebration! Live Performances all at 1:30 and 2:30 p.m Sunday, Nov. 1 Colors of Spanish Get moving and playing with a Spanish-language program for young children and their grownups. Saturday, Nov. 7 Mariachi Corazon Jovial Delight in the bright and powerful energy of live Mariachi music performed by the uber-talented and well polished youth band hailing from Castro Valley. Sunday, Nov. 8 Drumming with Marcos Odara Learn the basics of Brazilian drumming with master percussionist and Fairyland friend, Marcos Odara. Book Celebration with Sara Andrea Fajardo Saturday, Nov. 7 11:30 a.m. Join author Sara Andrea Fajardo as she reads her new book “ A Tanta Wawa for Abuelito “. Art Exhibit Fairyland proudly hosts our Día de los Muertos art exhibit featuring the work of 450 TK to 5th grade students from Escuela de la Familia Global in Oakland. Within the walls of our gorgeous chapel, you’ll find curated original artwork and objects of beauty whose vibrant, bold, and festive forms come together as a joyous way of remembering the dearly departed.
