This is a hands-on production class for new filmmakers focuses on how to plan, shoot and edit a short doc. DATES: 9/19, 9/26, 10/3, 10/10, 10/17 | 5 Saturdays from 10 am - 4pm Includes 1 hour for lunch, bring your own lunch to store in the fridge. ABOUT THE WORKSHOP: What story have you always wanted to tell? This hands-on class teaches new filmmakers to plan, shoot, and edit short documentaries. It covers visual storytelling through interviews, B-roll, and archival footage and photos. You'll create a short character profile of a person. Get hands-on and make your own short doc. Learn by doing! To prepare for this class: • Choose a person for your documentary. It can be a relative, or a local community member. That person should be available for interviews and tied to an interesting location or activity. • Have a short pitch ready about why this would be an interesting story. Additional information: Docs will supply cameras and equipment/software for postproduction (Adobe Premier Pro).
