About

Practice your reading skills with Valley Humane Society's certified therapy dogs . Children will build their reading skills and gain confidence in a relaxed and supportive environment. Depending on the number of signups, kids may be asked to read in pairs. Handouts will be available from our Education and Literacy Services. Note: Families are asked to wait right outside the room, giving readers and dogs space to focus. Participating children should not be afraid of dogs nor be allergic to dogs. This program is for children in grades 1-6. Space is limited, please register for just one session per child. Library staff may take photos, videos, or audio recordings at our events. Please tell us if you do not wish to be photographed, video-recorded, or audio-recorded. We will always respect your requests! An ASL (American Sign Language) interpreter or closed captioning can be provided for this program if requested at least seven (7) days in advance. For assistance, please contact your library or accessibility@aclibrary.org .
