DOUG SIDEN VISITOR CENTER AT CRAB COVE: Explore Crown Beach, where land use history and natural history combine for engrossing stories! Walk from Crab Cove towards the east along the flat shoreline trail and back, approximately 2.5 to 3 miles. Observe wildlife, dune landscaping, eroded beaches, and discuss future possibilities for shoreline resiliency in a time of rising ocean levels. Alameda Walks is a regular program sponsored by the Alameda Recreation and Parks District, this time led by East Bay Regional Park District Naturalist Michael Charnofsky with special guest Lauren Eisele from Community Action for Sustainable Alameda (CASA).
