Politics and Culture from All Sides: Reading the 2026 Midterms

Wednesday, November 4 · 12 PM – 1:15 PM · Medford/Somerville campus

About

What do the 2026 midterms tell us about American politics? Hosted by the Center for Expanding Viewpoints in Higher Education (CEVIHE) at Tufts University, this weekly series invites Tufts faculty, students, and staff to explore politics and culture by reading controversial books and articles, engaging with faculty discussants and guest speakers, and discussing sensitive political, economic, and social issues with depth, humility, and courage. Each week, participants will encounter sophisticated arguments associated with a diversity of ideological, religious, and cultural worldviews. Lunch will be provided. Please see the workshop schedule here for more details, and please contact us if you want to participate so we can add you to the Canvas site. No advance reading. Selected results and analysis will be posted on Canvas after Election Day. Discussant: Professor Meredith McLain , Department of Political Science
