About

This program will provide important information to the community about understanding and reducing flood risk. We will walk you through practical steps to protect your home, navigate flood‑risk tools, learn about insurance options, and stay informed through county alert systems. Whether you’ve experienced flooding before or simply want to be better prepared, this program offers clear, actionable guidance tailored to local conditions. Come to Wheaton Library to strengthen your resilience, gain confidence in your preparedness, and learn how small steps can make a big difference when severe weather strikes. The program will take place in Multipurpose Room #132, accessible through the building lobby. Accommodation Requests People who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing should request English-language captioning or sign-language interpretation at least five days before the library-sponsored program they plan to attend. Contact the Assistant Facilities and Accessibility Program Manager at 240-777-0002 with all other accommodation requests. Questions about this program? Contact the Wheaton branch at 240-777-0678.
