Birdability Week - Guided Bird Walk with ASL interpretation

Wednesday, October 21 · 9 AM – 11 AM · Meadowside Nature Center · Rockville

About

Celebrate Birdability Week with Montgomery Parks during a welcoming, fully accessible guided bird walk at Meadowside Nature Center. Designed specifically for Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals, this program includes American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation to ensure an inclusive and engaging experience for all participants. We will start the session by learning how to properly adjust and focus binoculars, ensuring everyone has a crisp, clear view of the vibrant birdlife that calls the park home. From there, we will head out into the forest for a beautiful two-mile excursion, where we will spot local species, explore native habitats, and enjoy the community of fellow nature lovers. This program is a wonderful opportunity to build your birding skills in a supportive environment, so come ready to look to the canopies and connect with the outdoors. Please note that this guided walk will take place entirely on natural-surface forest trails, so comfortable, sturdy walking shoes are highly recommended.
