Join us for a unique performance in the Historic Lobby, where classical guitarist Peter Fletcher will perform a program spanning the centuries without any amplification or microphones! Hear music from some of the greatest composers as it was intended, straight from the instrument to your ears! This program will feature pieces such as: Bach’s Third Lute Suite and "Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring" Spanish guitarist and composer Francisco Tárrega’s extraordinarily beautiful Capriccio Arabe the captivating "Usher Waltz" by Russian guitarist and composer Nikita Koshkin Fletcher's own arrangement of Córdoba's "Leyenda" from Cantos de España plus a special arrangement of the traditional Shaker hymn "Simple Gifts" by Christopher Parkening Fletcher, a graduate of the Eastman School of Music, is an American classical guitarist based in Detroit and New York City. His recordings on the Centaur Records and Towerhill Recordings labels have been critically acclaimed. Aside from his performances at Berkeley Public Library and other venues, you can catch Peter performing another solo recital this upcoming spring at Carnegie Hall on April 10, 2027.
