Redwood Grove Guided Walk

Sunday, November 15 · 1 PM – 2 PM · Big Basin Redwoods State Park, 21600 Big Basin Way, Boulder Creek, CA 95006

About

Every day is a great day to walk through an old-growth coast redwood forest! At California's oldest state park, you'll discover the unique redwood forest ecosystem, learn how fire plays a vital role in the health of the forest, and explore what makes coast redwoods some of the most remarkable trees on Earth. This program is a gentle walk on a 0.6 mile, flat trail designed for all ages. Learn about the natural and cultural history of Big Basin and how the forest is growing since the 2020 CZU Lightening Complex Fire. Each docent and staff person has their own niche and is excited to share their passion with you! Bring your own water or purchase water from Parking Kiosk as there is no running water, electricity or cell service at Big Basin! On busy weekends parking can fill up at the main day use area. Consider reserving parking through the Big Basin Redwoods State Park website. Registration required.
