After many years of stumbling through Ad hock startup experiences, business scholars and practitioners stopped and took a looked back. They discovered that there are easily managed and easily taught steps to developing a new business venture. This workshop is a brief overview of processes and approaches for how entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial marketers can effectively uncover the hidden needs and define value for customers, marketing strategy, and marketing activities. In this workshop, we will explore the concepts and methods that seem to promise the best results for a proposed venture. This class is an overview of the techniques and materials used by practitioners and educators at major universities such as MIT, Stanford, and including San Jose State University. We will review the latest thinking on business models to help understand and frame a hypothesis for testing our Customer Development theories. Once our Customer Development and Business Model theories are validated, we can proceed to STEP ONE: writing the Business Plan. Presenter: David E.
