About

Do you have a 3D design or project but don’t have a 3D printer and/or need help printing your design? If so, the West Valley Branch Library invites you to register for a two-hour appointment where a volunteer will help you print your project on the library’s 3D printer. Appointments are scheduled on the first and third Saturdays of each month from 12:30-2:30. During the appointment, you will learn how to set up a file and print your design with guidance from one of our volunteers. Registered participants can choose a design from Thingiverse , Printables , or provide their own design. Designs must be in an .stl file format and will be printed with PLA filament. Your .stl file (or a link to your .stl file on Thingiverse or Printables ) must be submitted via email to wvmail@sjlibrary.org no later than the Thursday before your appointment. All prints are free and must meet the criteria listed below . Registration is required. Only 1 print per person and only 1 print per family/household per month. Also, please be aware that: Designs must be able to be loaded and saved on a Creality K1C 3D printer. All prints must take less than 1 hr 30 min (estimated 60 grams of filament). Prints are meant to be for personal use only and not for commercial purposes. No weapons or items that could be construed as a weapon will be accepted for print. Prints that are considered obscene or otherwise inappropriate for the library environment will be not accepted for print. The library’s 3D printers must be used only for lawful purposes. All local, state, and federal laws must be followed. Accepted prints may not violate any third party’s intellectual property, such as copyright, patent, or trademark.
