Join us for a rich exploration of cacao through an Indigenous perspective, honoring the ancestral roots and cultural significance of cacao. We’ll trace cacao’s journey from its Indigenous Mesoamerican origins and explore how it ultimately made its way to the United States. Participants will learn how cacao is transformed from fruit to chocolate and discover how different growing regions, preparation methods, and traditions shape its complex flavors. Participants (ages 15 and up) will also experience a guided chocolate tasting by Casa de Chocolates, to deepen their appreciation for cacao not simply as a treat, but as a living lineage connecting people, culture, land, and tradition.
