Ask a Master Gardener - In-person

Sunday, September 20 · 1 PM – 4 PM · Olney Library

About

Master Gardeners educate residents about safe, effective and sustainable horticultural practices that build healthy gardens, landscapes, and communities. Master Gardeners offer free advice to residents on a very wide range of garden questions. For example, we can help novice vegetable growers, recommend the best perennials and native plants for your garden, give advice on sorting out heirloom plants and invasive weeds in an inherited old garden, and diagnose your plant problems. You can bring a sample of your plant or insect for identification or diagnosis to one of our in- person plant clinics. Whatever your gardening problem is, Master Gardeners are here to assist you at no cost. Other programs of MCMG around the county include community gardens and events, Urban Gardening demonstrations, therapeutic gardening at senior centers, the Baywise Program and educational events for schools and clubs. For more information, visit the website at https://go.umd.edu/mcmg . The Master Gardeners will meet on April 18; May 16 (Saturday); June 21; July 19; August 16; September 20; and October 18, 2026. Please note that the Master Gardeners will be at Olney on May 16 in place of May 17 to support our Magical Garden Party event from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. Questions about this program?
