Dia de los Muertos
About
Casa Círculo Cultural and the San Mateo County History Museum and in collaboration with the Redwood City Parks & Arts Foundation, are proud to bring to Redwood City a Día de los Muertos Celebration. Every year, a theme or region of Latin America is carefully selected with a deep connection to the traditions and cultural significance of Day of the Dead. This year’s theme is inspired by Tlaxcala, a region rich in history, Indigenous heritage, and vibrant traditions. Through its unique customs, colors, and symbolism, we celebrate the memories of those who came before us while honoring the enduring connection between past and present. Welcome speech and procession typically begins at 6:00 pm with our guests of honor. Attendees can enjoy the ceremonial altars created by the members of the community, a procession, catrinas, face painting, free children’s activities, food court, and live entertainment throughout the evening. There will be booth vendors offering traditional Dı́a De los Muertos food such as: hot chocolate, pan de muerto, tamales, and more! Click here for info.
