The Art of Everyday Things: Age Strong Painting Workshop

Friday, October 23 · 10 AM – 12 PM · Mattapan, Mattapan · Boston

About

Discover how ordinary objects can become extraordinary works of art. In this welcoming eight-week workshop, participants will explore painting, creativity, and self-expression using both traditional art supplies and everyday materials. Together we'll create landscapes, still lifes, and collaborative abstract artwork while experimenting with new techniques and discovering fresh ways to see the world around us. Whether you're picking up a paintbrush for the first time or returning to a lifelong passion, this class offers a supportive space to learn, connect with others, and enjoy the creative process. Led by longtime artist and community leader Joseph M. Chéry, whose work explores the power of art to bring people together, foster conversation, and strengthen communities. This fall, join us for a special 8-week painting workshop led by Joseph Chery, resident curator of the Haitian Artists Assembly of Massachusetts. Supplies and materials provided. This program, sponsored by the Age Strong Commission of Boston, is intended for senior patrons. Limited capacity. Registration is required. Please register here . Accessibility Notice: We strive to make our events accessible. To request a disability accommodation and/or language services, call 617.298.9218 or email tchery@bpl.org.
