Free Movie Screening of CODA - Arlington Celebrates National Deaf Awareness Month

The Arlington Disability Commission invites you to a free screening of the Oscar winning movie, CODA at the Capitol Theater on September 23rd at 6:45pm.. As a CODA (child of deaf adults), Ruby is the only hearing person in her home. When she discovers a passion for singing, Ruby must choose between family obligations and her dream. Celebrate National Deaf Awareness Month and the start of Capitol Theater's Open Caption Wednesdays program. Open Caption is a version of the film where spoken dialogue and relevant audio cues to describe what’s happening in the movie will show at the bottom of the screen.* Open Caption screenings appeal to many viewers, including those who are D/deaf or hard of hearing, those learning the English language, or cinemagoers who simply prefer to read along with the film. *Headphones and closed caption readers are not required, but are still available if you prefer this method of movie watching. Online reservations are encouraged however walk-ins are welcome!
