All Hands In: An Intergenerational Deep Dive Series

Sunday, November 1 – Sunday, November 15 · KID Museum, 3 Bethesda Metro Center, Suite 140, Bethesda, MD 20814

About

Team up with your child to learn the foundations of real-world electronics! This interactive, 3-part workshop is an intergenerational experience where parents and kids build skills side-by-side. From basic components to custom project builds, you'll learn how to prototype using breadboards together. This program is completely free, but space is limited to just 5 parent/child pairs on a first-come, first-served basis. Session 1 (Nov 1): Visitors will be introduced to circuitry, learning about the essential parts and purposes in a circuit before practicing how to connect a circuit using a breadboard - a reusable, solderless device. Session 2 (Nov 8): Level up your circuitry skills by experimenting and exploring how resistors interact between the input and the outputs in a circuit using breadboards and resistors. Session 3 (Nov 15): Finally, put your new skills to use through open-build time, integrating switches and sensors into your circuit.
