Join our CAH faculty fellow, Supurna Dasgupta for a screening of the celebrated Bollywood film, Gully Boy. At this movie screening we will witness how joyful music-making forms communities of dissent and solidarity in India. As we watch this film, we will think about how new forms of popular music can dissent against social inequality and injustice. What kinds of new men and women are shaped through these communities? Which global artistic networks do they align themselves with and how?
