Visionary artist, storyteller, and designer Mary Blair was born in McAlester, Oklahoma, in 1911 and spent her childhood in Morgan Hill, California. One of the most influential figures at The Walt Disney Studios throughout the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s, Blair’s flair for color and vibrant concept art influenced the visual style of a number of beloved animated Disney films, including The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad (1949), Cinderella (1950), Alice in Wonderland (1951), and Peter Pan (1953). The Walt Disney Family Museum in partnership with the Morgan Hill Historical Society are presenting a new pop-up exhibition in celebration of the City of Morgan Hill's 120th anniversary. Graphic reproductions of selected artworks from the museum’s popular 2025 special exhibition, Mary Blair: Mid-Century Magic, will be on public display at the Morgan Hill Library from August 1 through August 31, 2026.
