Backyard Composting Workshop

Saturday, November 14 · 10 AM · Santa Clara

About

Backyard composting improves soil structure, increases the absorption of moisture, supplies soil with nutrients for plants and reduces erosion while decreasing what goes to landfill. Learn the art and science behind composting from a local Master Composter. The City is hosting a composting basics workshop on Saturday, November 14, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., at the Everett N. “Eddie” Souza Park located at 2380 Monroe St. A master composter will teach residents how to build, maintain and troubleshoot a home compost bin and apply the finished compost. Space is limited and registration is required. To sign up for the workshop visit Community Workshops in Your Neighborhood | Santa Clara County Cooperative Extension For more information, please contact the Department of Public Works at Environment@SantaClaraCA.gov or 408-615-3080.
