Hem Those Jeans!
About
Are your jeans too long? This class at The Spark will teach you how to shorten the hem of your jeans to the right length while keeping the look of the original hemline. We will not cover repairs or other alterations at this time. How to Participate: This program is intended for teens (age 15+) and adults. Register for the class to be sure that a sewing machine will be saved for you. Bring 1-2 pair of jeans that you want to hem. We will provide heavy duty or denim thread. If you need a different color thread, please bring it with you. Be sure to sign the waiver before class so that you can use the sewing machines. If you are under 18, your parent or guardian will need to sign the waiver for you. Arrive on time. If you are more than 5 minutes late, you may lose your spot. Walk-up Participants: Walk-up participants may be admitted if space allows. We recommend that walk-up participants sign the waiver ahead of time just in case a sewing machine is available for them to use. About the Instructor: Denise Patterson is a member of the Alameda Chapter of the American Sewing Guild , a national community of sewists. We invite all levels of ability to join us and we share a wide variety of interests. Library staff may take photos, videos, or audio recordings at our events. Please tell us if you do not wish to be photographed, video-recorded, or audio-recorded. We will always respect your requests! An ASL (American Sign Language) interpreter or closed captioning can be provided for this
