Grazing in the Grove Hike: LARPD’s Cattle Pilot Program

Sunday, October 25 · Sycamore Grove Park (Arroyo), 1051 Wetmore Road · Livermore

About

Join us on Sunday, October 25th at 9am at Sycamore Grove Park for a hike into the upper property to see the cattle grazing pilot program that began Spring 2025. LARPD staff and grazing experts will share how cattle help manage vegetation, support healthy ecosystems, and our team's plan to mitigate any trail impact caused by the cows. You'll also learn practical tips for safely hiking on trails shared with grazing animals. Come curious, and leave with a better understanding of how grazing benefits the park—and your outdoor experience. Hike will be roughly 3.25 miles round trip, moderate difficulty up and downhill. Details: Sunday, October 25 9 am-12 pm Wetmore Road Entrance to Cattail Pond and back If weather and trail conditions do not allow for an enjoyable hike to the upper property, we will hold a sit-down talk at the Wetmore Amphitheater instead.
