Do you have an enthusiastic reader? Or alternatively, perhaps a reluctant one? Then consider signing your child up for the delightful experience of getting to read to a therapy dog at the Belmont Library! Studies show that children who might feel reluctant to read in front of their peers are much less anxious with an animal present, since they don't perceive them as judgmental. So, reading to an animal can help children become much more comfortable readers overall. And even children who are not yet reading themselves can still enjoy this program, since families are more than welcome to sit down together to share in a book! We will also have a seasonal crafting activity on tap nearby for all ages & generations to take part in and connect over!
