Think you’re finished gardening once summer is finished? Think again! As the summer season begins to wind down, it’s time to start thinking about transitioning your summer garden to the fall and winter seasons. Learn how to make gardening fun and productive all year long with the UC Master Gardeners of Santa Clara County. This two-week gardening program will teach you how to close out your summer garden, prepare for fall crop planting, and enriching and replenishing your soil. Session 1 - Saturday, Sept. 19 Keeping a Summer Gardening Journal Removing Summer Crops and Reevaluate Your Site Preparing the Soil Fall & Winter Watering Guide Collecting Fall & Winter Rain Session 2 - Saturday, Sept. 26 Planning Your Fall Garden Starting Seeds Indoors and Use of Backyard Greenhouses Transplanting and Direct Sowing Protecting from Frost Planting Bare Root Trees Monitoring and Maintaining (Pests & Diseases) Harvesting Free.
